They were looking for
a salon they could trust
After a year of gel done elsewhere, my nails had gone thin and soft. They suggested BIAB and explained why. Three applications later they are back to a normal thickness. I had stopped believing that was possible.
Camille R.BIAB manicureI said straight away that I was scared of ruining my nails again. It is the first time nobody told me I was worrying over nothing. We looked at my nails together before deciding anything.
Marion T.Gel polishThe removal was completely gentle, nothing burning or pulling at any point. Not one split nail afterwards, and they did not cut my length short by default the way it had been done to me before.
Sophie M.Removal and gelThree and a half weeks after the appointment, not one chip and nothing lifting. My hands are in water all day at work, that is my real test.
Charlotte V.American tipsI walked in without an appointment expecting a rushed job. They took their time on the edges and the cuticles, and nobody hurried me even though the salon was busy that Saturday.
Léa D.ManicureI had no idea what a head spa even was. They explained each step before starting, then left me in peace. I did not have to make conversation, I fell asleep.
Inès B.Serenity RitualThe price was given to me before we started, removal included. I paid exactly what was quoted, which is not as common as it should be.
Hélène P.Removal and BIABThe tools were taken out sterilised in front of me and the file was new. It should be the bare minimum, except I have seen the opposite elsewhere, so I am mentioning it.

Our work
You have seen the place and the work.
All that is left is picking your slot.
Or walk in without booking: the wait time is posted at the door.
Your hands, before.
Your hands, after.

Our commitments
What you can count on,
every single visit
Walking in without an appointment does not mean being rushed through. Here, nobody pays for someone else's delay: the times listed in our menu are there to help you plan your day, never a stopwatch on your hands.
Honest check
Your technician examines the real condition of your nails before starting, and says it plainly. Too thin for an application today? We tell you, and we suggest something else.
Gentle removal
Removal is the moment where most of the damage happens, so it is the one we take most calmly. We take the product off layer by layer and stop above your own nail.
Never rushed
Your treatment is never cut short because another client is waiting. We would rather announce a wait at the door than shorten the treatment of the client already seated.
Clean finish
Cuticles pushed back one by one, a clean edge all the way round, product smoothed out. This preparation decides whether your application lasts three weeks or five days.
Guaranteed hold
A well applied gel polish lasts three weeks; a hard gel or BIAB, up to four. Any nail that lifts within 7 days, we redo it free of charge.
Price upfront
The price is confirmed before we begin, removal included. Nothing is added at the end of a treatment: if an extra step would help, we ask you first.
Spotless hygiene
Instruments disinfected between every client, single-use files and buffers. You see the tools come out of their pouch.
Qualified hands
Beauticians and nail technicians, all fully qualified. They can recognise a nail that needs a break, and tell you so even when it is not what you were hoping to hear.
The houses behind our work
Japanese Head Spa
A Japanese ritual,
on Provençal time
If the term means nothing to you, that is normal : a head spa is a Japanese scalp treatment, still rare in France. You stay dressed, lying down, your head resting in a basin. We wash, we massage the scalp, neck and shoulders at length, we rinse, then dry gently. You leave with your hair done, not soaking.
Nothing is asked of you for the hour that follows. No conversation to keep up, no choices to make, no position to hold. Many of our clients fall asleep : that is rather a good sign.

Your questions
Straight answers,
unvarnished
Will this damage my nails?
It is the question we are asked most, and it is a fair one. What damages a nail is almost never the product applied : it is pressure and depth. A nail worked too far down before the application, a removal rushed through, and it thins for good. We take the applied product off layer by layer and stop above your own nail, even if that costs a few more minutes. And if your nails are too thin to take an application that day, we tell you and suggest something else, even if it costs less than what you came in for.
My nails are already thin and brittle. Is it too late?
No, and it is in fact the case we see most often. BIAB gel sheathes the natural nail and protects it while it grows out : it acts as a splint, with no tips and no added length. Allow three to four applications, roughly three months, to get back to a normal thickness. The before and after images above are exactly these cases.
Does removal hurt?
No, and you should not leave with splitting nails. Removal is done gently and without forcing : we take off what was applied, layer by layer, and stop above your own nail. If you feel heat or any discomfort, just say so : we stop and work another way, it is not meant to be unpleasant. And we do not shorten your nails by default to save time : if a trim is genuinely needed, we ask you first.
How long will it last?
A well applied gel polish lasts three weeks ; a hard gel or BIAB, up to four. What makes the difference is not the brand of polish, it is the preparation : cuticles, surface, edges. That is precisely the part we never rush. If a nail chips or lifts within 7 days anyway, our guarantee applies : come back, we redo it, at no charge.
Without an appointment, will I be rushed through?
The opposite, and we understand why walk-ins might suggest otherwise. An appointment puts a stopwatch on the chair : when the next client is booked for 3 pm, the 2 pm treatment gets compressed to finish on time. Here nobody holds a slot, so nothing pushes your technician to cut things short. The times in our menu are an estimate to help you plan your day ; when a hand needs ten more minutes, it gets them.
Will I have to wait?
Sometimes a few minutes, rarely more. When you arrive we tell you honestly where we are and you decide : wait, or wander the neighbourhood and come back, la Rotonde is two minutes away. We would rather quote you an honest wait than shorten the treatment of the client already in the chair. Mornings are quietest, and online booking stays open if your day has no room for the unexpected.
What exactly will I pay?
What is shown on the menu, removal included where the line says so. The price of your treatment is confirmed out loud before we begin. If an extra step turns out to be useful during the treatment, we give you the price and you decide. Nothing appears on the bill that you have not agreed to.
What is a head spa? And will I have to make conversation?
It is a Japanese scalp treatment. You stay dressed, lying down, your head resting in a basin : a wash, a long massage of the scalp, neck and shoulders, a rinse, then a gentle dry. It is not a hairdressing appointment, there is no cut and no blow-dry, and you leave with your hair done rather than soaking.
And no : nobody expects you to talk. You can keep your eyes shut from start to finish, many of our clients fall asleep. One piece of advice to make it last : do not rewash your hair within 24 hours.
What about hygiene?
Instruments disinfected between every client, single-use files and buffers, station cleaned before each treatment. The tools are taken out of their pouch in front of you : you do not have to ask. This holds on a busy Saturday afternoon too, because that is exactly when standards slip elsewhere.
Can I buy a treatment as a gift?
Yes, and it is arranged at the salon. Drop in or give us a call and we will put the gift together with you, for whichever treatment you choose. We do not issue gift vouchers online yet, but that does not stop you offering a treatment.
