Book onlineWhat a head spa is
You arrive dressed,
and stay that way
If the words mean nothing to you, that is normal: a head spa is a Japanese scalp treatment, still rare in France. You stay dressed, lying down, your head resting in a basin. A wash, a long massage of the scalp, neck and shoulders, a rinse, then a gentle dry. You leave with your hair dry and done, not soaked.
Nothing is asked of you for the next hour. No conversation to make, nothing to choose, no position to hold. Most of our clients fall asleep, and that is rather a good sign.
And there is almost nothing to prepare. Come with or without make-up, as you prefer: we work around it. No need to arrive with clean hair either: the treatment starts with a wash.

They were looking for
a salon they could trust
I had no idea what a head spa even was. They explained each step before starting, then left me in peace. I did not have to make conversation, I fell asleep.
Inès B.Serenity RitualI thought I was paying €89 for a glorified shampoo. It is a scalp, neck and shoulder massage that really lasts, with the wash in the middle. I left with my shoulders about ten centimetres lower.
Claire F.Signature RitualI had put it off for months, telling myself I would walk out soaked and my evening would be ruined. They dried my hair before I left. I went straight to dinner from here.

What we are asked,
and what we answer
The head spa is still little known outside Japan. These four come up at almost every first visit.
Eighty-nine euros for a shampoo
The wash sits in the middle of the treatment, it is not the treatment. What you are paying for is a scalp, neck and shoulder massage, and the full sequence is set out above, step by step. No cut and no blow-dry.
I will not know what to do or say
Nothing is expected of you. The sequence is announced before we begin, then you have nothing left to decide: no choices, no conversation. Most of our clients fall asleep, and that is rather a good sign.
An hour and a quarter, I do not have that
The Serenity Ritual takes 50 minutes, and it is a complete treatment, not a cut-down version. We are in the town centre, open Monday to Saturday, and mornings before noon are the quietest.
I cannot walk out with wet hair
You will not: your hair is dried before you leave, and the drying is not taken out of the massage time. Dried is not styled, but you can go straight on with your evening.
Frequently asked
The head spa,
explained plainly
What is a Japanese head spa exactly?
A scalp treatment of Japanese origin. You stay dressed, lying down, head resting in a basin: a wash, a long massage of the scalp, neck and shoulders, a rinse, then a gentle dry. There is no cut and no blow-dry.
Do I leave with wet hair?
No, never. Your hair is gently dried before you go: you can head straight to dinner from here. Dried is not styled, though: there is no cut and no blow-dry.
Should I wash my hair before coming?
No, and it is actually better if you do not. The treatment starts with a wash: on freshly washed hair there is nothing to clean and the scalp cannot be read. One or two days after your last shampoo is ideal. Come as you are, that is our job.
Do I have to make conversation?
No. Nobody expects you to talk. That is rather the point: an hour where you are looked after without having to decide anything.
Does a head spa actually do anything?
Yes, for what it really does: deep relaxation, neck and shoulder tension letting go, soft hair on the way out. Most clients fall asleep during the treatment. We promise nothing beyond that, though: not for migraines, dandruff, hair loss or sleep. Those are common claims in this trade, and no study we could cite supports them.
Fifty minutes or an hour and a quarter, which one?
The two rituals differ by more than length. The Serenity Ritual, 50 minutes at €69: scalp massage, gentle wash, facial cleanse, neck and nape massage. The Signature Ritual, 1 hr 15 at €89, adds the meridian preparation and opening, the sculpting and lifting facial massage and the Korean collagen mask. If you are torn, say so when you arrive: we will help you choose.
